On October 29, 2025, the National University of Agriculture (UNA) held a workshop at the Sainte Anouarite Center in Abomey-Calavi to validate its incubation and acceleration process document, as part of the #TAGDEV 2.0 program of the RUFORUM Network and the Mastercard Foundation๐ฑ๐ก.
This workshop, chaired by Rector Prof. Agossou Bruno DJOSSA ๐จ๐พโ๐ซ, brought together faculty members ๐ฉ๐พโ๐ซ๐จ๐พโ๐ซ, students ๐ฉ๐พโ๐๐จ๐พโ๐, and experts ๐ผ around a common goal: to provide UNA with a clear, coherent, and operational framework to support young agricultural entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas ๐ญ into innovative and sustainable businesses ๐พ๐ช๐พ.
Prof. Flora CHADARE ๐ธ, the program coordinator, noted that this document is the result of a participatory process ๐ค involving several internal and external stakeholders.
The participants then exchanged ideas ๐ฃ๏ธ, collaborated ๐คฒ๐พ, and offered valuable recommendations ๐ to enhance the document before visiting the UAC Startup Valley incubator ๐ป๐ โ a great source of inspiration for UNAโs future incubation program.
๐ฌ This step reinforces UNAโs vision: to train a new generation of agricultural entrepreneurs ๐ฉ๐พโ๐พ๐จ๐พโ๐พ capable of bringing about sustainable change in food systems ๐๐ฝ๐ฅฆ in Benin ๐ง๐ฏ and across Africa ๐.
