About the program

The Regional Forum of Universities for Agricultural Capacity Building (RUFORUM), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the Malawi University of Science and Technology (Malawi), the University of Eldoret (Kenya), Uganda Martyrs University (Uganda), the University of Port Harcourt (Nigeria), the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), the University of Bamenda (Cameroon), the National University of Agriculture (Benin), and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Morocco) are implementing a ten-year program (2023–2033) titled “Transforming Agricultural Universities in Africa to Make a Meaningful Contribution to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0).” This program aims to strengthen universities and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions to better serve communities by training and empowering young Africans and their institutions to drive an inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient transformation of agriculture and agri-food systems. The TAGDev 2.0 program will facilitate access to university education for economically disadvantaged but academically competent young African students.
